Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is found in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the western arm of the Great East African Rift Valley, about 530km from Uganda.
The major activity in Bwindi is; Gorilla tracking limited to a maximum of 8 people per particular gorilla group per day – Permits must be booked before since they are on a very high demand all year round.You can do this by getting in touch with Uganda wildlife Authority or contacting your local Uganda safari Operator for advise.
Guided forest walks, birding and other primates viewing. There is also the interesting activity of the people (Batwa Pygmies) whereby recently the Batwa Cultural Experience was introduced.
Departure from Hotel in Kampala
7:00 am
You will be welcomed by a McBern Tours and Travel representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala depending on your time of arrival. If you arrive early, you will have time to visit the UWEC in Entebbe where you will see different animals and birds.
After breakfast, you will head to Bwindi Forest. On your way, you will have a stop at the Equator so you have chance to stand in both hemispheres at the same time. You will have a rest on arrival from the long journey as you relax and wait for dinner and overnight Travellers rest/ equivalent
While at Bwindi Forest, expect to walk in steep and muddy conditions before getting to see the gorillas. Hikers will love the experience in the park. You will enjoy see them as they eat, play and rest in a quite a legendary experience just hard to wipe off the memory lane. You can also have a guided village walk instead of tracking the gorillas and see the local people and get to see what they do and learn about their culture and how they lead their lives. Dinner and overnight at Travellers rest/ equivalent (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we transfer back to Kampala and have a stop at Mpambire trading centre to have an experience of how drums are being made. Lunch en route in Masaka town. After that, head back to Kampala or transfer to the airport to catch your flight.
