7:00 am
We will head south to Rwanda from Uganda to a hotel where you will take a rest(Hotel des Mille Collines/ or it’s equivalent ), then after lunch enjoy a city tour with a stop at the genocide memorial sites which is the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. It is located in Gisozi a few minutes from the city centre. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
With breakfast at 7:00 am , we shall travel to Parc National Des Volcans which lies in northwestern Rwanda. It is bordered by Virunga National Park in Democratic Republic of Congo and Mgahinga Gorilla national park in Uganda. We shall arrive at Mountain Gorilla view lodge check in and go on a search for the mountain gorillas in the park. After lunch we shall hike through the lush bamboo and Hygenia rainforest, open grassland and swamp of Volcanoes National Park to find golden monkeys, bush duiker, buffalo and spotted hyenas. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast at 7 am, we shall travel to Akagera National Park which covers a total area of 1,122km^2. The park lies in eastern Rwanda, bordering with Tanzania. It’s characterized by woodland, swamps, low mountains and savannah. Arriving at Akagera Game Lodge check in ,relax and have lunch. Afternoon game drive into the park with the opportunity to see many night birds and animals. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
With an early morning breakfast, we shall have packed lunch and head out for a full day adventure into the park. We shall have the opportunity to see wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions and hundreds of bird species, such as the rare shoebill stork. At 6pm, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
With early morning breakfast at 7 am , we will proceed to Nyungwe national park. Nyungwe forest which is the oldest and largest rain forest in East Africa in southwest Rwanda. It’s a vast area of mountain rainforest, home to many species of chimpanzees, owl-faced and colobus monkeys. Arrive in the park for lunch and check into Nyungwe Forest lodge. Evening game drive with close encounter with animals such as zebras, several antelope species and giraffes. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast we shall head to the park. Here, you will have a forest walk in search of the primates species like the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, Rwanda Safari black and many others. This will take you the whole day accompanied by park rangers and trained guides. Thereafter a night walk this evening in search of the shy forest dwellers. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Depending on your flight time, have an early morning breakfast before leaving for Kigali Airport or return to Uganda.
