Maasai Mara National Reserve (also known as Maasai Mara, Masai Mara and by the locals as The Mara) is a large game reserve in Narok County, Kenya, contiguous with the Serengeti National Park in Mara Region, Tanzania. It is named in honor of the Maasai people (the ancestral inhabitants of the area) and their description of the area when looked at from afar: “Mara,” which is Maa (Maasai language) for “spotted,” an apt description for the circles of trees, scrub, savanna, and cloud shadows that mark the area.

Departing from the Nairobi, we drive down the through the scenic Great Rift Valley. We arrive at Maasai Mara Game Reserve for lunch in the afternoon. Check into the hotel thereafter have our first game drive in the Masai Mara game reserve, which is a large game reserve in Narok county. Return by 6pm to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, we shall embark on a full day Masaai Mara game drive in search for the members of the ‘big five’ (elephant, cape buffalo, lion, leopard and rhinoceros) cheetahs, zebra, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, giraffe, hippo, crocodiles. The Masaai Mara scenery consisting of trees, scrubs, savanna, and cloud shadows shall be seen along the way. We shall return to the lodge for dinner overnight stay.
After breakfast at 6:00 am, we shall have a morning game drive through Masaai Mara game reserve and we shall also visit the Masaai village before we arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon.
